We are a full service boutique design firm specializing in full room and whole home design in Westport, Norwalk, New Canaan, Darien, Wilton, Weston, and Fairfield. Whether working to build a new home, renovate an existing home, or completely furnish one room or more, our signature design approach allows our clients to enjoy an organized experience that results in unique and elevated spaces.
With a background in Art History, founder and principal designer, Caroline, blends art and architecture to design spaces that are interesting and sophisticated. Her favorite part of the process is working with builders, architects, and highly skilled tradesmen to bring big ideas to life.
Guiding our clients through every project is our project manager, Amanda who coordinates the many details required to take a project from concept to completion. Lindsay manages our deliveries and keeps our sample library organized so inspiration is always just a step away.
Our signature design approach
We will be with you from first idea to the final installation to ensure a seamless process and a beautiful end result. TIMELINE:
Our design process takes between 10 and 14 weeks. Once orders are approved, lead times can be 12-20 weeks, or longer, plus additional time for shipping.
INVESTMENT
CONSULTATION | $350
Every full service project begins with a 60-90 minute in home consultation so we can see your space and better understand your lifestyle and project goals. After the consultation, we’ll provide you with a detailed letter of agreement and an estimate of the hours we anticipate your project will take. The consultation is $350 and is non-refundable.
DESIGN FEES | $8,000+
We know the time and attention required to create a beautiful space for your family, and your design proposal will outline the estimated hours we anticipate your project will take. While we charge an hourly rate for all services provided, our design fees typically begin at $8,000.
PROJECT BUDGET | $35,000+
Our clients typically have furnishing budgets beginning at $35,000 and construction or renovation budgets beginning at $125,000. At this time, we are not able to take projects with budgets below these thresholds.
FURNISHINGS | 100% due
All furnishings are sourced and purchased through Caroline Kopp Interior Design to ensure a high quality design that reflects the investment in your home. 100% of furnishing invoices are due prior to order placement.

SHIPPING & WHITE GLOVE DELIVERY | 20%
Shipping, handling, receiving, inspecting, warehousing and white-glove delivery costs are typically 20% on top of the furniture budget.
INSTALLATION DAY TEAM | BASED ON SCOPE
On your install day, the Caroline Kopp Interior Design team will be on site to oversee movers and window treatment installation, provide instructions for handymen and art hangers, and style the space with hand selected accessories. The fees for the install day team are based on how many items are being installed.
COMMUNICATION
Taking the time to understand each client's aesthetic is critical to designing a space that is rich in detail and true to the story of those who dwell there. We're committed to listening closely so we can interpret your ideas and translate them into a unique physical space.
Strong communication skills are equally important for keeping all the details organized so everyone involved can work cohesively and proactively to ensure each project finishes on time and with minimal issues.
Our business hours are M-Th 9-4 EST and we will communicate during this time through site visits, design meetings, and regular project update emails. We will be here to guide you through the process so the only surprises you experience are the good ones.

WHAT HAPPENS AT THE CONSULTATION?
During the consultation, you’ll meet with Caroline to review your project and any plans you have, share design ideas, and discuss the scope of your project in detail.
After the consultation, you'll receive a letter of agreement outlining the process and detailing the estimated hours for your project scope.
WHAT IF I JUST NEED A LITTLE HELP?
In order to give each project the time and attention it deserves, we limit the number of projects we take each year and we select projects that best align with our aesthetic and business structure. If you have a project that is smaller than the starting budget ranges outlined, we may be able to recommend a design firm that can better accommodate your project.
WHAT AREAS DO YOU SERVE?
Our service area includes Westport, Norwalk, New Canaan, Darien, Wilton, Weston, and Fairfield.
If you are outside of these areas, we are not able to accommodate your project at this time.
CAN YOU RECOMMEND A CONTRACTOR?
The process is always more enjoyable when we can partner with expert contractors and architects we know will take great care of our clients and who excel at keeping projects organized. We are happy to make a recommendation once we have more information about your project so we can suggest a company that will best fit your budget and style.
WHEN SHOULD WE HIRE A DESIGNER?
We recommend getting started early. For new construction projects, we prefer to be involved during the architectural phase so we can review your plans to ensure they are laid out for optimal function.
Our design phase takes between 10 and 14 weeks and once orders are placed, furniture production can take three months to a year, or longer.
We recommend getting on the calendar as soon as you know you'll be building or furnishing your home.
WHERE DO YOU SOURCE YOUR GOODS?
We typically design with high-quality furniture pieces we customize and buy directly from craftsmen and vendors only available to designers. Because our team handles all order placement, you are able to enjoy a seamless delivery process with minimal disruption to your everyday life.
Our products are priced to be competitive with retail.
how do you bill for your services?
Our design services are billed hourly at the rate of $225 for Caroline and $125 for the team. We collect an initial design fee retainer upfront to secure your spot on the design calendar and apply that to the final design fee invoice.
Design fee invoices are billed monthly.
WHAT SHOULD I BUDGET FOR MY PROJECT?
It depends on the size of your home and your desired level of materials, finishes and furnishings and we will help you develop a budget during your kickoff meeting. We recommend a furnishing budget beginning at $35,000 and a construction budget beginning at $125,000 If you choose Caroline Kopp Interior Design to help you with your build and furnishing design, it is important to plan and budget for furnishings at the start so you can comfortably live in your home when it is complete.
